Six Things Not To Miss At Hospitality In The Park 2017
Posted by Adam on 12th September 2017
Almost a year ago to the day Hospital Records hosted the inaugural Hospitality In The Park and it was absolutely amazing and easily the biggest Drum & Bass event that had ever been held in the UK. It combined Hospitality’s uniquely friendly and inclusive fan base with the atmosphere of an outdoor festival.
I’m absolutely thrilled to be going again this year so here’s my pick of the things that you need to make sure you check out…
The London Elektricity Big Band
This was at the top of my list last year too and when it came down to it I got so wrapped up in everything else that was going on I totally missed them. They’ve done a few shows since HITP 2016 and you won’t find anyone with a bad word to say about it. This is something not to be missed.
Once again the food on offer is an event in its own right. From burgers, to poutine to, mac and cheese and beyond there’s a feast to be found wherever you look. You may not think you’ll need food at a rave but I promise you that after a few hours dancing a big fat helping of carbs and meat will be exactly what you want.
The aptly named stage aimed at showcasing the best new, up and coming talent that Drum & Bass has to offer is without a doubt going to be one of the highlights of the day. Whilst some of the names will already be familiar as they aren’t really that new, I’m talking about GLXY and Submorphics, you’re going to be witnessing some really exciting DJs playing their hearts out to what’s likely to be some of the biggest crowds they’ve ever stood in front of.
Krakota’s 21 Years Of Hospital Set
One of Hospital’s hottest artists and DJs will be on the Hospitality stage with a “We Are 21” set and I honestly can’t think of anything better than a set purely consisting of the best music from the back catalogue of what is probably Drum & Bass’ best label.
The Invaderz Stage
Whether you like it or loathe it there’s no arguing that the jump up movement is something of a phenomenon and for those of you that love it this is going to be the place to be. With names like DJ Guv, Mollie Collins and Kings Of The Rollers on the line up this is going to be rowdy.
…And Everything Else
Honestly the line up for this is utterly ridiculous and if I was to write about all the things worth checking out you’d miss the actual festival as you’d still be reading this list. There’s the Marcus Intalex tribute set from ST:Files & Calibre, Roni Size live, the return of Clipz, Kenny Ken with a jungle history set and sooooo much more. You can check out all of the details over on the Hospitality In The Park website with set times likely being released in the days leading up to the event. At the time of writing there’s also a very small amount of tickets available so if you don’t have one yet, get it here.
See you in the park!
