We Talk To L-Side About His New EP On V Recordings And When We Can Expect His Debut Album
Posted by Adam on 5th July 2017
Hi Leonardo, how are you?
I’m fine, thank you.
We’ve passed the half way point of 2017 now, how’s the year been for you so far – any highlights?
The Year has been very productive, I have spent a lot of time in the studio producing my tracks. Soon we have news and I am very excited to show my new work for the people.
What have you been up to since we last spoke?
I’ve have been really focused on first album coming out soon on V Recordings. It has been a lot of work but it will be worth it. After Chronic Rollers album, I was able to produce my new EP.
How’s the scene out in Brazil, is it still as big as it has been historically?
The scene in Brazil has been rebuilt with time, we do not have that large number of listeners anymore, but the young people are becoming more interested in music. Already the producers in Brazil have impressed a lot, names like Alibi, Urbandawn,Critycal Dub, Jam Thieves, Simplification and Andrezz are the ones that I have most listened too.
You’ve got a new EP coming out on V Recordings, what sort of vibe can we expect from this one?
I made this EP to show people a little bit more of the music i have made, rather than taking it from my album, a new phase of the L-Side, keeping the essence of the Dancefloor, but also a bit more atmospheric.
Do you have a favourite track on the EP? I have to say that Dark Matter is mine
Certainly. the title track of the EP, Love Vibration with Ras Tweed. I made this track in 2016, greatly influenced by the work of Marcus Intalex, the songs he played in his podcast and also the songs he released on his label (Soul: R).
You’ve mentioned previously that you’re working on your debut album – how’s that coming alongand when can we expect it to be released?
Yes, I am 100% focused on this work because it will be my first album, I have to show alot about myself, what I am and so on. I have a lot of responsibility becausegot collabs with great artists like: Ras Tweed, Fox, DRS, Fats, Collette Warrenand many others. Im very happy with what I have done for the album and can’twait to show you all.
And what tracks have been killing it in your sets recently? Any secret weapons you’ve been drawing for?
Yes, lately I’ve been playing a lot of my own songs and also tracks from V Recordings,Serum songs for example, whenever I play – people go crazy. I have also played a lot of music from Brazilian producers, highlighting ALIBI (Level 2 & DJ Chap) they are at full throttle.
Thanks! Is there anything else you want to tell us about?
Yes, for the first time I will do a mini tour of Europe between August / September and I am very exited to introduce myself at the parties, show my new work and meet people.
