LV:X – Ten Years of Liquid V
Posted by Adam on 24th December 2014
For the past 10 Years Liquid V has ridden the waves of trends and fashions and delivered 100% organic, soul fused, funk filled Drum & Bass music. Since its inception the term ‘liquid’ has mutated and morphed now meaning different things to different people, but at the core of Liquid V has been the vision to bring through music produced from the heart in all its different shapes and forms. Under Liquid V this ‘liquid’ banner covers a diverse and exciting range of sounds and styles, from the more traditional rare groove and disco influenced tracks, to atmospheric rollers through to the deeper, darker more minimal sounds that have come through in recent years.
This collection brings together some of the highlights from this catalogue from some of the most recognisable names in D&B such as Calibre, Roni Size, Nu:Tone, Peshay, Commix, dBridge and Utah Jazz all sitting alongside some of Liquid V’s most exciting new wave of producers like Submorphics, Mr Joseph, DJ Chap, Random Movement and more.
A 2 hour (double CD) selection all handpicked by Bryan Gee showcasing some of the labels finest and most loved moments such as Nu:Tone’s remix of Roni Size’s It’s Jazzy and Peshay’s Funkster to some of the more underground and perhaps less well known gems that people might have missed – it’s all here in one collection. Roll on the next 10 years!
