Signs – Indigo EP (Cause4Concern Recordings)

The EP opens with the title track, a blasting, booming monster which transports you all over the galaxy. With a nod to the old skool, this one still feels fresh, gritty and grimey. It has power, but also exhibits control and direction. Everything you could wish for from modern neuro-influenced funk, Signs opens proceedings with a bang.
Desert Storm is equally well-described, with a deep, dark feel to it, building and morphing slowly into something very special. Hard hitting drums work in tandem with skulking, military bass notes and some of the fiercest effects you’ll have heard in a long while. All of Signs’ work is atmospheric, letting you take a ride into their twisted imagination.
Scalp’ll blow your head off, never letting go of its turbo-charged beats and clean, minimal lines. The sound explodes out of your system, with the low end tying things down nicely. The sheer force of the producer’s work is impossible to deny, as they smash things into next week.
The EP draws to a conclusion with Plasma, a creeping, crawling track which takes things way beyond the next level. Constantly shifting, Signs pulls out all the stops with this one, always reforming and reframing what he is about.
