6 Essential Things Not To Miss At Hospitality In The Park
Posted by Adam on 21st September 2016
If you have been within 50 metres of me, my social media accounts or this website within the last few weeks you will know that I am very excited to be going to Hospitality In The Park this weekend.
I’ve already picked out some essentials that you’ll need for the big day, should you be one of the lucky 10,000 people who got a ticket, but now I want to highlight a few things that you’ll really want to see because there is a lot, and I mean A LOT, going on.
London Elektricity Big band
Yes, the London Elektricity band is back and this time it’s a big band. In the literal and musical sense. Tony Colman, along with Emer Dineen, Liane Caroll and a shit ton of musicians, will be gracing the Hospitality stage for a live show. This is properly exciting for anyone but it’s extra special for those of us who remember the first London Elektricity band from 10 years ago.
The Ukranian band, who have been a sensation since signing with Med School at the end of 2014, will be making their UK debut on Saturday and that, my friends is a big deal. Catch them in the Med School tent.
Along with more Drum & Bass than you can shake a stick at there’s the Reggae Roast tent which features the likes of The Next Men, Earl Gateshead and the legendary Channel One Sound System. When it’s time to chill and take it a bit easy (which you will need to do at an event that lasts nearly 12 hours) this is going to be the place to go. Music for the soul…
The Soul Van
Our friends at Soulvent Records are also getting in on the action as they bring the Soul Van (yes, an actual van) to Hospitality In The Park. Here (again, from a van!) you’ll be able to catch the likes of Pola & Bryson, Data 3 and GLXY, among others, doing their thing. Definitely worth a visit
Frederic Robinson Live
Back to the Med School stage now and it’s Med School’s latest signing, Frederic Robinson, that I’m focusing on now. I caught Fred performing his live show at Building 6 last year and it was incredible and, with his debut album for Med School just around the corner, there’ll be lots of exciting, new music to be heard.
The food that is going to be on offer on Saturday is something else. According to the Hospitality In The Park website there’s going to be 10 separate vendors on the day, offering everything including burgers, ribs, pizza and so much more.
